Our robots offer up to 50-150% more motor torque leading to higher throughput for customers’ tools. We have up to 65% better wafer placement repeatability, giving our customers higher product yield. Our robots’ reliability is up to 60% greater than our competitors’, meaning our customers’ factories run more efficiently.
Persimmon is the only leading vacuum robot company with in-house motor production giving us a significant advantage. Throughout history, great robot companies have designed and manufactured their own electric motors. This is also true for Persimmon. One of Persimmon’s first milestones in 2012 was to win a National Science Foundation SBIR Grant for our next generation Hybrid-Field electric motor technology. We went on to win 3 additional NSF grants and continue to work on this novel technology. The development of this technology continues in our world class motor development labs. Persimmon also manufactures electric motors for our own vacuum robots. Having this in-house capability allows us to optimize the output, size and shape of motors to perfectly meet our needs. This allows us to control quality, speed to ramp production and control motor cost.
